Q: How far ahead should we plan a San Diego conference?

Our starting guidance is around six months for most full-service events, and nine to twelve months for large conferences and ticketed events, subject to scope and availability. Convention dates and resort ballrooms book early.

Close enough to scout properly San Diego is a drive from Los Angeles, so site visits, walkthroughs and the load-in don't depend on flights, and the producer who walked the venue is the one who runs the day. Waterfront and resort venues The convention center sits downtown on the bay, ringed by waterfront hotels, and resorts along the coast host many corporate meetings. Many come with in-house AV and rules on outside vendors; we plan with them from the first call. Rooms, sessions and transport A multi-day program needs more than a ballroom: room blocks, breakout rooms, AV for each session and transport between the hotel and the venue. We plan them together, around the agenda. Outdoor, with a plan Mild weather makes terraces, lawns and pool decks usable for much of the year, but coastal evenings cool quickly.
